Introduction to and the application of Damp Diagnostic Tools and Equipment for Technical Housing Officers
Following on from the outstanding success of the previous Damp, Condensation and Mould ‘open’ and ‘in-house’ events this session focuses on the diverse range of equipment available to technical, housing and other officers when undertaking damp investigations in or around properties.
Too often, officers are readily provided with equipment and diagnostic tools, but not trained, or, indeed, appreciate the functioning, features or results given by same. As a result, when placed in such inappropriate hands equipment can be not only misleading, but wasteful in terms of time and resources, and indeed fail to protect parties’ interests.
Complaint and legal action which could have been readily avoided had forethought been readily applied. Structured then to include reference to the various moisture meters – resistance, capacitance and speedy etc, deep bore probes, hygrometer sticks- humidity boxes, data loggers, thermal imagery etc the session combines the more formal ‘in-house’ office medium presentation followed by an ‘on-site’ practical application at a void, or other provided form by the Client, to apply theory to practice.
